Creative Economy – The Creative Economy is a term used to describe the aspect of our economy that hinges upon creativity and cultural uniqueness. Creative Economy is the aspect of our local economy that thrives upon inventiveness, innovation, imagination, inspiration, and ingenuity. The goals are similar to most community economic development work:
- Create new jobs
- Attract new tourist dollars
- Expand small businesses
- Attract and retain young adults / skilled workforce of the future
Downtown Rutland Partnership – In Downtown Rutland, we at the Partnership strive to provide an exciting Downtown Rutland experience for businesses, organizations, and the people in our community. As our role in the local community grows, we continue to explore traditional and non-traditional retail, service and office opportunities. We are bringing convenience and fun to every customer and business owner as we weave community into the Downtown Rutland experience.
Rutland Area Farm and Food Link – Since 2004, RAFFL has been working on community, farming, and food issues in southwestern Vermont. We are the leading nonprofit helping to build a resilient local food system in the Rutland region – one in which fresh, healthy produce from local farms is readily available to all. Our work helps new and existing farms meet their production and marketing goals, fosters food-related entrepreneurs, and works with community members to make sure they know about and can find local food. In collaboration with statewide partners, RAFFL is helping to conserve Vermont’s working landscapes for future generations
Sustainable Rutland – Sustainable Rutland is committed to promoting environmental, cultural, and economic sustainability throughout the Rutland region. We respect the ability of present and future generations to live sustainable and equitable lives through initiatives designed to build community, provide educational opportunities, and support individual and community models of demonstration within the greater Rutland community. With optimism and practicality as guiding principles and strategies, we seek to naturally connect the values, needs and responsibilities of individuals with the greater community, while embracing the interconnectedness of our urban and rural communities.
